Please, Pray for my cousin Bayler Teal

My 5 year old cousin has just been diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma. He has been given a 30% chance of survival. Please pray for him and his family. The following was taken off of his website:
About two weeks ago, I started feeling very tired and was exhausted when I tried to play. This past weekend at the beach with my family I couldn't play much at all. That's when my Mommy and DeeDee got really worried.I went to school on Monday and had a really bad tummy ache. My back was hurting too! My Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctor in Florence and he sent me to the Emergency Room for more tests. He thought that I had mono. I was a big boy but I was really tired and just wanted to go home! The next day, the doctor called Daddy and told him that I had abnormal blood work and that he wanted me to go see a hemotologist (blood doctor). He ran more tests and Wednesday morning he called and said that he was very concerned about me.He sent me to the Children's Hospital at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia to have even more tests. The doctors there told Mommy and Daddy that I have Neuroblastoma and that I have a mass in my tummy that is pushing on my kidneys and liver. Neuroblastoma is a very rare form of cancer that only affects children.

New School Year

I am so thankful for where God has placed me. I love teaching. Teaching 4 and 5 year old's was not what I wanted when I started teaching in a public school over 3 years ago. But God has placed me with wonderful colleagues who I love so much. And now I'm teaching my 4th group of pre k students. It is such a blessing to watch as the ones I taught my first year are moving on up in to second grade. It's hard to believe. To see them so excited when they see me in the hall, and to know the difference I made in their life. I truly believe teaching is a ministry. I teach in a poor community and many of my children come from very rough home lives, and many don't even know the meaning of family. I want to be a light to them, and I want them to always know I'm here. I am privileged to preach in a school where I can pray with my students, and tell them about God.
I struggled for a long time weather or not to send my children to public school. And I've thought at times that I am sacrificing them to teach others. But I know that is not true. I've spent many hours in prayer with my husband over this decision. I think home schooling is great for most of those that have chose to do it who are Christians. I cannot say it would be God's will for all children though, because I know for some of the children I teach it would be a devastation for them to be home all day. I'm not saying my children will never be home schooled. But I know at this point in time they are where God wants them. They are growing into good Christian young people and I am so proud of them. Jonathan got the Holy Ghost at camp this year, and it was so great to see him rejoicing in the Lord during the VLB service at the assembly. He is in 7th grade and I know that as he grows there will be new temptations, but I am proud as I see the choices he makes, and the friends he chooses. I am also proud of Joseph and Allison, they go to my school. They witness to their friends. They ask for prayer for children in their class. They know the difference between those that are living right and those that are living wrong.
One of my special loves is special education. I had two little twins who came into my life at school last year who were non verbal for the most part, but so smart. I have fought for their rights to stay in a regular classroom. They have inspired me, along with prayer, to continue my education and get my Doctrine of Education. I am doing this online, and my topic that I'm studying is Early Intervention. My husband has also decided to go to school, and get his teaching degree. He eventually wants to be a counselor at a middle school. Working in youth camp over the past few years has given him a true love for young people.
We recently went back into pastoring. We really prayed about this, because we are very busy. But we know God wanted us to pastor. It's amazing when you work for God how much more time he seems to give you. We were out visiting all last Saturday, and the Lord just seemed to multiply our time and our strength. He is such a wonderful God.
If you are thinking of going into the teaching field, pray about it, and consider it a ministry. Pray for me and my family as we continue to walk in the path we feel God has laid for us.
Please ignore my grammar and spelling mistakes. I hate grammar and when I'm doing college work or work on my job I have to proof read and correct. But I consider my blog a place where I can type up a quick post and not have to worry about all that. LOL

Camp 2008

Camp was wonderful. Bro. Mike Nixon was our evangelist and really preached under the annointing. We had 27 saved, 27 sanctified, 15 filled with the Holy Ghost and 50 baptized. We also had one to join the church. My 13 yr. old son Jonathan got the Holy Ghost at camp, and he also had his first so called "date" to a beautiful 16 yr. old girl. I told him I'm ok with it as long as he knows he only gets the see her once a year at camp (which she may be at the assembly :)). But a long distance relationship is sounding pretty good to this mom. Here is a picture of the 2 of them.

It's been awhile!

I know it's been awhile. But life has been really busy. 2007 has really been a great year for us. To those who don't know the mighty God we serve, that probably seeems like a rediculus statement.

2007 was full of trials, especially the last few months. My husbands family had many things happen, including many deaths. We also had the illness of our oldest son. It's only trials like this that really cause us to draw closer to Him. He's the only one that holds the answers. It also draws us closer as a family.

I'm still in awe of the wonderful miracle I have seen take place in my eldest sons life. He is growing so fast. He is growing into such a handsome, caring, and reliable young man-way to fast. He loves Church, family, and school. He is in band and loves it. I just can't believe he will be a teenager this year.

My other two children are growing so fast also. Joseph is 10, he has had perfect attendance this year in school. He has also managed to stay on the honor roll all year. I love him being at my school. He is at an age where he goes back in forth from looking up to his big brother, to being jealous-saying his brother thinks he knows everything-(to which I reply that's because he is almost a teenagers and that is the way they are). He doesn't like that answer very much.

My Allison seems to be maturing so much faster than my boys, she is 8 going on 12. She also loves the Lord so much. She loves reading and math. She reads all the time now. She has also had perfect attendance this year and remained on the honor roll. It's amazing to me the toys now a days. She got a baby alive for Christmas, a dog that talks and knows her name, and my brohter, Dale, sent her a barbie that has a dog that poops. Just amazing. Allison also loves to sing, and write.

My husband is so amazing. He has been such a Comfort to me this year. He has gone back to school. He's doing great. I can't believe he has been able to do so much with all that he has gone through with family illnesses and deaths since school started in August. He wants to get a teaching degree and then work on his masters to be a guidance counselor. He loves his Camping Ministry and loves helping young people.

I will try to blog more this new year, but won't make any new promises.

Happy New Year to everyone!
