I can't wait for Camp

There's not been a whole lot going on around here, except getting ready for camp. I'm so excited. Our theme is The Anchor Holds. I am going to do my cabin devotions on I am Persuaded-The Anchor Holds No Matter What We Go Through. I am going to use Scriptures on the following things to help us stay PERSUADED.

Patience
Earnestly
Remembrance
Strong
Unquenchable
Ability
Doubtless
Expect

Home

Well we got back home last night. We had a wonderful convention. I was very tired after a 5 hour drive with my crew. I spent the last hour of the drive trying to work a rubix cube with 3 noisy children in the back. I went in and worked a couple of hours at moms daycare today, but I spent most of the day being lazy. Tomorrow I will have to make up for that. My hubby is working at cubscout camp during the evenings this week. I can't wait unitl youth camp. It's the first week in July and Bro. Horotn is going to be our evangelist. I am going to be a senior girls counselor this year, which I love.

It's Raining at Our Convention

We are at a motel getting ready to go to the last day of our state convention. We are having a wonderful convention. Unfortunately Bro. Kramer had a death in his family so he had to leave early yesterday. But before he left he gave a wonderful address based on the theme "Let it Rain". He also read appointments before he left. Our guest speaker, Maxwell Rollins, was supposed to preach last night, but he didn't get to because the Holy Ghost took over. Last night at 10pm there were still many praising God in the altar. I hope this is a taste of what we are in store for at the general assembly.

Back to the land of the living

Wow! This has been a really stressful year at school, even though I love teaching. I never realized you could have a class with so many children that have problem homes. I'm really enjoying summer. I am looking forward to getting to know my new class after summer. My own children are growing so much. Jonathan is taller than I am now. They are also growing in the Lord.
Not long ago I was in charge of gleaners and I told the children we were going to do something differnet. I had 4 children there. My 3 plus Anthony Dyers little sister Charity. I told Charity I wanted her to be in charge of prayer, I wanted Joseph to be in charge of leading singing, Allison in charge of testimony service, and I told Jonathan I wanted him to be in charge of the scripture reading and activity (technically he is no longer a gleaner). They took their jobs so seriously. Jonathan was thumbing his index and highlighting things in his new VLB Bible. When it was time for him to get started, you could tell he was really nervous so we prayed for him. He read a Scripture from Proverbs about how a worm doesn't need anyone to tell it how to find food. He talked about it and read a Scripture passage from Micah about being steadfast and not being sluggish. He expounded on these scriptures. He talked to the children about how even though they are young there are things they can do for the Lord without anyone having to tell them too. He gave them each a piece of paper and told them to numer it to 5. He told them to write down 5 things they could do for Jesus without anyone telling them to. Then he got a piece of paper and hung it on the wall and numbered it to 10. He used that to compile their list. I was so proud. It went great.
Awhile back Allison came running in the house saying "Mommy, Mommy Is it true?" I said is what true? She said, Joseph told me if I was scared that I don't have any faith in God. I said, scared of what? She said snakes and things like that. I explained to her that for one thing God gives us wisdom to be scared enough to stay away from certain things. I also explained to her that their are things we are all scared of and we have to pray for God to give us more faith.

Well maybe now that it's summer I can keep up with my blog.

Great service Sunday Night

I know I haven't posted in awhile. I've been really busy.

Thanks to all of you, who have been praying for Joseph. He is doing really well.

We had a fall festival at school Saturday. I was very tiresome. I learned how to make funnel cakes. The other preschool teacher and I sold those, baked goods, carmel apples, hot choclate, and coffee. We ended up making about $600 to divide between the 2 of us. We are planning on buying digital cameras for our classroom with the money.

Sunday morning we had a conference at our local Church and I was set forth for my lay ministers license. Sunday night we had the best service. There was the sweetest spirit of praise.
Yesterday I had the privilege of going on a field trip with 40 four year olds to a pumpking patch. We had lots of fun even though it drizzled on and off all morning.
Today I had to take a mid term on reading across the curriculum. That wasn't any fun at all.
I think tomorrow I will play with orange play doh with the kids. And I went tonight and bought them Candy Land, and Chutes and Ladders. O Boy-I'm going to have lots of fun.

Tourette Syndrome

Well a lot has happened since my last post. It's hard to believe that the assemlby is come and gone. I am no longer a VLB. I'm getting old. Two days after the assembly I was sitting down doing homework with Joseph and he started jerking his head really bad. Well 2 weeks later we learned it was Tourette's Syndrome. This has been a really emotional roller coaster for us. But things are much better now, I'm feeling such peace with the decision to not use the meds that were prescribed for him. He is expecting a healing. And until God does heal him, I have been sharing with him how he can use this as a way to share God with others. He can make a diffrence. He is taking it so good. Children at school have been asking him about why his head jerks, but he isn't letting it bother him. It is causing me to try and be more patient with my children. Please pray for us as we continue to work through getting used to living with this. It is so hard at times not to say Joseph quit doing that when he's having his tics. I will try to blog more often, but right now I'm ready for bed.

Great Service Tonight

Well tonight was a great service. The Holy Ghost spoke and told us My Church don't fret,I know who is mine. I don't have it word for word-but that's pretty close. But there was such a sweet, sweet Spirit. We made our signs tonight. There were 5 gleaners and 2 vlbs there. My gleaners did a good job on their sign. I haven't been this exited about the VLB march in a long time. Just one more week.

I can't wait until the Assembly

I can’t wait until the assembly. I believe we will see that Devine Deliverance. I preached Sunday night about how the altar was built to Baal and another altar to God. The real God showed himself, and what he can do. It’s time for us to start fasting, praying and building those altars- so that if you are unsure you will see at this assembly where the true God is. I also preached on forgiveness. We have to be willing to forgive. I said I believe in restitution where possible, but I also believe there comes a time that even if we’re not asked we have a heart of forgiveness. That doesn’t mean excepting wrong or compromising. It just means loving everyone, and not only loving them—but the Word tells us we are to help our enemies. When Jesus hung on the cross with the two thieves he said “Forgive them, for they know not what they do”. I said come Thursday of the assembly we will have a decision to make and if the badmouthing, bitterness, and personal opinions prevail—we won’t be able to find the will of God-we will continue longer in the wilderness or God will take care of the bitterness one way or another. We don’t have to worry about the Church of God-SHE WILL MAKE IT. She will be a glorious Chruch without spot or wrinkle—and if you have bitterness you are a spot or wrinkle in TCOG. Either you will have to get rid of it or you will be gone. It’s not the Church we need to pray for—but we need to pray for us in the Church and those that despitefully use us. Lord help us to get rid of anything that would keep us from reaching your Perfect Will at this general assembly. I had many Scriptures to go along with this.

New School Year

Well things are going much better at work, now that I have a lot of red tape things behind me-and actually get to what I love doing-which is teaching.
I had half of my students Tuesday and half Wednesday, and today I have all of them (minus one that will be out the first two weeks because of tonsillectomy).
I have 20 four year olds. It is so neat to watch their excitement of being in a real school for the first time, and having to learn new things. I have the joy of getting to teach these children how to walk in a straight line, and how to get their lunch trays and carry them to the table. It's a really awesome feeling knowing you are helping set the stage for their learning the rest of their lives.
I did have to keep reminding my self today that it is only their second day-and only three of them have ever been to daycare or preschool. I'm really surprise I've not had a one cry when their parents left (I've had plenty of parents crying though).
Today we went around the school looking for our missing Gingerbread Cookies.
I have already taken Thursday and Friday off for the assemlby and can't wait. I expect God to do great things there.
I would like to ask for your prayers as I have excepted my call into the ministry and will be getting set forth as a lay minister.

Sorry I'm not posting much right now. I've been really busy at work. Please pray for me, there are some things going on at work right now that are very stressful. Thanks for your prayers.

VBS and Tribute to my Parents

Well our Vacation Bible School went good. We only had 7 children, but it was fun-and I believe it strengthened our Church to work together on this. Because of this I believe we will see more people come.

TRIBUTE TO MY PARENTS

I love my mom and dad. One month after my mom's 17th Birthday she married my dad, and left the farm she had grew up on in South Carolina. By the time she was 20 they had 3 children. With these Children in tow they sacrificed. They ministered in SC, Ohio, TN, ND, IN, ID, MS, and Tennessee. My dad went on to earn his masters degrees-my mom supporting our family so he could do that. I went to aprox. 10 different schools growing up and I never once regretted it.
After the reorginization my mom worked daycare so my dad could be full time over a region that was not limit paying.
I remember sitting in our living room of a BEATIFUL new parsonage in ND feeling God wanted us to move on. My dad asked us all to pray (I was 15 -my brothers were 14 and 12). We had the opportunity to go to a big Church in Iowa with a parsonage or a small Church with no parsonage in Bloomington, IN. My dad said after praying if u feel God wants us to go to Iowa put a quarter in the bucket, if u think he wants us to go to Indiana put a penny in the pucket. We finished praying and there were 5 pennies in the bucket.
My dad could have lived in one place and had a good job with all of his education-but he gave his life for TCOG-as did my mom. When they knew God was directing it was easy to go. When they were asked to go to Wisconsin, it was harder because they felt something wasn't right. But they followed theocratic govt. and went. They didn't know they would be going there until that assembly (yet they were told they must have themselves and all their furniture moved by the first Sun in October). It was so important to them to get to tell the Georgia people bye-they went to the ministers convention that Friday night (1st one in October) and the very next morning they left with moving truck for Wisconsin.
While they were there the Lord blessed. My mom told me many times that she had never felt as much love from any church they had pastored as she did the Kenosha Church. She loved them with all of her heart. One of the ladys there-Sis. Ruth was asked by my dad to be his adopted mom after my granny died. They gave whole heartedly to this Church. I had a chance to meet the Kenosha people on a visit there. I was able to meet Joseph Morgan before he died. My husband and Bro. Avilas had a lot of fun joking about the Texas Cowboys and some team up there in Wisconsin. These people will always hold a special place in my heart for the love they showed my parents.
I remember last year as my dad at the assembly gave roses to my mom for her support to him. This is what my parents are really like.

Meeting Shortened

Well Amy NA NA NA! My meeting ended up only lasting 2 hours. The calandar said 9-3.
This meeting was not as boring as the first one. We got access codes to some really neat websites-such as united streaming.
Tonight we went to my oldest sons school for a parent meeting. His new teacher seems really nice. Jonathan loves school, and was very excited today when he got home from his first day of 5th grade. I can't believe he is so big now.
Well that's really all I had to post.

God's Love

Well I didn't get a chance to post more pictures today. I've been busy spending time with my children today, planning VBS for Saturday, and giving my house some TLC. We went to Church tonight. I was in charge, it was VLB service. We had a short service and then went and passed out VBS flyers in the neighborhood. God really spoke to me from Romans 8 about how nothing can separate us from the Love of God-that is so important to remember right now-with everything that is going on. That's what my service was on. God really seems to be speaking to TCOG through his word.

While passing our flyers I met a wonderful old lady-she is 86.It turns out she is a distant family member to one of our members. She was lonely and love to talk-she talked forever :) She talked about God and wanted to know if we believe in the Holy Ghost. She is an evangelist, but just visits around to different Churches. She sais she believes God has an elect. We hugged before I left. Pray for her, her name is Velma Bowman. She has contact and influence on a lot of people. She has 6 children and her sister has 12.

Please pray for our VBS Saturday. God has really been blessing at our Church. We have been having a lot of visitors, some of which come faithfully. We have a small building and are wanting to add on, at the rate we are going we will be outgrowning our Church.

Well I really should go to bed-I've got a 6 hour meeting at my school tomorrow about the school website (sounds like fun). I can't wait until I have my class and can just enjoy getting down and playing with them. Well I ttyl.

A boring day

Ok I stayed up last night trying to figure this blog out. I was very proud of myself until I realized that all the work I did to try to put links was erased when I changed the template. I will redo that sometime.

Well today has been really boring. I had to watch 6 hours of slide shows about behavior management. Doesn't that sound like fun?

Sis. Shaw I'm waiting to see your blog :)

Back to School---and not to be outdone by Amy Dyer

Well I figured if Amy Dyer is going to keep up a blog I should too.

I went today to set up my classroom for next this year. I'm looking forward to meeting all my little ones and getting to know them. Out of 20 only 3 have ever been to preschool or daycare before. That should be interesting :).

I'm excited that my 2 youngest children are coming to my school this year. My 11 yr old wants to stay where he has always been because this will be his last year there before middle school, so we are letting him. He is growing so fast.
